This page describes the ten steps a fishing rod OEM project follows at Fantan Fishing, from the first review of your requirement to shipment of the finished order. For each step we list what we need from you and what we deliver in return, so that both sides know where a project stands and what comes next. The sequence is our standard framework; the detailed flow, timing and documents are confirmed for each project before work begins.
The flow at a glance
Requirement Review → Specification Confirmation → Component Selection → Sample Development → Sample Approval → Pre-production Confirmation → Bulk Production → Inspection → Packaging → Shipment
Step by step
1. Requirement Review
From you: rod type, target market and fishing application, planned quantities, price position, and any fixed components or branding. From Fantan: a feasibility review, a recommended project mode and a list of open questions.
2. Specification Confirmation
From you: answers to the open points and sign-off on length, sections, power, action, ratings, guide train, handle, reel seat, finish and packaging. From Fantan: a written specification sheet that becomes the basis for quotation and sampling.
3. Component Selection
From you: decisions on in-house versus sourced parts and brand preferences for reels, guides, handle materials or reel seats. From Fantan: a bill of materials marking each component as self-made (our carbon fiber guides, titanium guides and carbon fiber reel seats) or sourced to your specification, with supplier lead times noted. See Component Sourcing & Integration.
4. Sample Development
From you: artwork files, color references and any reference rod. From Fantan: a sample built to the confirmed specification, with photographs and a sample report before dispatch.
5. Sample Approval
From you: consolidated feedback and either formal approval or a change list. From Fantan: revised samples where required, a change record, and the approved drawing and bill of materials. See Sample Development.
6. Pre-production Confirmation
From you: purchase order, quantities per model and length, packaging artwork approval and shipping instructions. From Fantan: order confirmation, production schedule, confirmation that materials and sourced components are secured, and the inspection plan for the order.
7. Bulk Production
From you: availability for questions and approval of any deviation that arises. From Fantan: production against the approved sample, progress updates at agreed points, and in-process checks through blank finishing, component preparation, assembly and finishing.
8. Inspection
From you: your own inspection requirements, or a third-party inspection booking if you use one. From Fantan: inspection of the order against the approved sample for dimensions, cosmetics, assembly and packaging, with records available on request. See Quality & Inspection.
9. Packaging
From you: approved packaging artwork, labeling requirements and any retailer-specific rules. From Fantan: packing in the approved protective bag, retail box and shipping carton, with a packaging inspection before cartons are closed. See Branding & Packaging.
10. Shipment
From you: shipping terms, forwarder details and the documents your market requires. From Fantan: booking coordination, packing list, commercial invoice and the agreed documents, followed by shipping confirmation.
Projects that start from components
Buyers who assemble elsewhere follow a shorter version of the same flow for fishing rod blanks and guide systems: specification, sample, approval, production, inspection and shipment. The complete-rod offer is described on OEM Fishing Rods.
Confirming the flow for your project
The framework is standard; the detail is not. Sample rounds, inspection scope, documents and schedule are agreed in writing for each project before work starts. To begin, send your requirement through Request a Quote.
