Branding and packaging turn an OEM rod into your product. On the rod itself the visible decisions are the logo, blank color, metallic details, thread wraps and finish; around it sit the label, hang tag, retail box, protective bag and shipping carton. This page lists what can be specified on a Fantan Fishing OEM program and how each element is confirmed. The available range for each option and its effect on MOQ are confirmed commercially during quotation, because they depend on quantities and on the printing and finishing suppliers involved.
Branding on the rod
Logo
Brand name, model name, specifications and logo marks are applied to the blank above the handle, and can also appear on the reel seat, butt cap or hook keeper where the component allows. You supply vector artwork and a placement reference; we show the result on the sample for approval. Legibility at the specified size and contrast against the blank color are checked before the artwork is released.
Rod color
Blank color is specified to a reference, from natural carbon through solid colors to tinted finishes that show the carbon pattern. Color is approved on a physical sample rather than on screen, because the finish type changes how the same color reads.
Metallic details
Metallic accents include winding checks, trim rings, butt caps and metallic thread or foil elements. Finish, color and position are listed on the drawing. Metal trim parts are sourced to specification, as explained under Component Sourcing & Integration.
Thread wrap
Guide wraps are specified by thread color, trim band color and wrap style. Wrap colors are chosen to work with the blank, the frame finish of our carbon fiber guides or titanium guides, and your brand palette. The approved sample fixes the combination.
Finish
Blank and wrap finish, whether matte, satin or gloss, is specified on the drawing and confirmed on the sample. Finish affects how logos and metallic details appear, so it is locked together with them at sample approval.
Packaging
| Element | What you specify | Notes |
| Label | Specification label content, barcode, country of origin, placement | Market labeling rules are defined by you; we apply them as instructed |
| Hang tag | Artwork, material, attachment point | Printed items carry their own minimums |
| Retail box | Printed box or sleeve, construction, artwork | Confirmed with a packaging sample before bulk |
| Protective bag | Cloth bag, partitioned bag or tube, color, printed logo | Sized to the transport length of the rod |
| Shipping carton | Rods per carton, carton marks, inner protection | Planned around your distribution and retailer requirements |
How branding and packaging are approved
- You send artwork files, color references and packaging requirements with the specification.
- Branding elements are applied to the development sample and photographed for review.
- Packaging is proofed and, for printed boxes and bags, confirmed with a physical packaging sample.
- Approved artwork, color references and packaging specifications are added to the drawing and bill of materials as the bulk reference.
- Bulk production is checked against these references at packaging inspection and final inspection, as described on Quality & Inspection.
Range and MOQ
Every branding and packaging element has a practical range and a minimum quantity that depend on the method and the supplier. A logo on the blank adds little to MOQ; a printed retail box or a custom protective bag follows the print supplier’s minimum. We confirm the available options and their MOQ impact commercially at quotation rather than publishing a general list, so that what you are offered is what can be produced for your quantities.
Branding on components supplied separately
Brands buying fishing rod blanks, guide systems or carbon fiber reel seats for their own assembly can discuss logo application and packaging for those components on the same basis.
Next step
Branding is confirmed as part of the specification in the OEM Production Process. If you have artwork ready, send it with your rod requirements through Request a Quote; if you are starting from the product side, begin with OEM Fishing Rods.
